Ahead of a potential return to golf the following communication has been issued by the Managing Secretary for the attention of Club Members:
In order to protect members, guests, visitors and staff alike a draft set of procedures has been produced in line with guidance issued by the R&A at the end of April and modified to suit the particular needs of Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club and a copy thereof has been attached for your perusal.
Clearly, there are one or two areas where there is a lack of certainty over what conditions may be imposed by the Scottish Government should restrictions on movement etc be relaxed so a revised version of this document will be issued when the position becomes clearer.
Over the last few weeks John MacLachlan has had to carry out essential maintenance on the course with severely curtailed staffing levels. This situation will remain the norm for a number of weeks to come although from next Monday we will have four greenkeepers in total working on the course in anticipation of its return to action. Despite these limitations I am sure that everyone will take enormous pleasure out of being able to play the course once again and will appreciate the huge effort that has been put in particularly by John and David Wade in recent weeks in ensuring that the members have a course they can enjoy.
