Hi Murray and David,

Many thanks to you both for hosting my visit to Prestwick St. Nicholas.  I enjoyed the course — and the company — very much.  It is a unique and wonderful place in many ways and I look forward to letting my little corner of the world in on the secret.

Thanks also for all the wonderful mementos and club history information — not to mention lunch.  I almost feel like an honorary member!  And it was certainly a nice surprise to see that my forbear was the club’s first captain!  PSN is the kind of club I would love to belong to and I know you are both rightfully proud of what you have there.

Regarding the 16th, my compliment was even grander: I called it “one of the best holes on the west coast of Scotland.”  It is a scenic hole, as well, but also a great one strategically and in terms of the shot values.  I had dinner with Ronan Rafferty on Tuesday and he agreed that it is indeed a truly magnificent golf hole.

After two long days at The Open I am pretty drained, but I will have fond memories of my (first) visit to your club forever.  Thanks again to both of you and to the members and staff of Prestwick St. Nicholas for your wonderful hospitality.

My group played at Prestwick St Nicholas last Monday and I thought I would email you to say how much we enjoyed the day. I have played many of the major 'Open' venues in Scotland and this was a day as enjoyable as any.
The courtesy and welcoming approach from everybody there was excellent and we all considered it a pleasure to play your course. None of the party had played before and they all thought it was a great venue and the course was in absolutely tremendous condition. It was a breezy day perfect for links golf.  We will definitely be coming back next July.

I was invited to St Nicholas by Walter Bryson (Member) during April time.
The course was in magnificent condition - despite the potential of Snow Mold (practically unheard of in the UK) due to a severe cold winter.
In my opinion the golf course was by far the best I had played this year (closely followed by The K Club - of course).

Very well done truly excellent job by all.

Over the years I have played numerous golf courses over the world and I have to say that all at the club made us feel truly welcome and together with one of the best golf courses I have ever played made this day unforgettable.

I am writing to you to compliment St Nicholas Golf Club. I visited the club on October 28th 2009 to play a round of golf which I had previously booked.

From the moment I arrived I was made most welcome and enjoyed every moment of my visit until I left in the middle of the afternoon.

The Starter welcomed me to the Club and showed me the facilities that the Clubhouse had to offer.He then explained a little about the course and gave me some tips on how to play the various holes. I feel that he set the tone for the day. After playing four holes quite successfully , I met up with two members who invited me to play the remainder of the round with them. Their names were Alex and John , I cannot remember their surnames , but they play every Wednesday morning. I enjoyed their company greatly and enjoyed playing golf with them. They helped me with their 'local knowledge' and therefore helped me enjoy the course even more.

We had a drink and a snack after the round in the lounge , again , a very enjoyable experience in very pleasant surroundings.

As far as the course is concerned , I thought the course was a very challenging but fair test of golf. It was in wonderful condition and I thought the greens were superb. All of this is testament to the efforts of your Greenkeeping Staff.

Having returned home , I have been telling all who will listen about the comprehensive and outstanding quality of Prestwick St. Nicholas Golf Club.

I want to pass on my thanks to all who contributed to my memorable visit , and to wish St Nicholas Golf Club all success in the future.
